NZ Outdoor Recreation Consortium

The NZ Outdoor Recreation Consortium exists to encourage, fund and assist volunteers to undertake hut, track and trail maintenance on public conservation land.

The volunteers enjoy different recreational activities such as tramping, mountain biking, hunting, climbing, backcountry horse riding, 4WDing and skiing, but they share a passion for our backcountry.

Explore this website to find out about the Consortium, the projects we fund and the resources we are building up to support volunteers.  Follow through on this exploration by getting involved. Contact us, or join our facebook group

The New Zealand Outdoor Recreation Consortium is principally funded by the DOC Community Fund. The DOC Community Fund provides funding to community-led conservation projects for natural heritage and recreation throughout New Zealand. The fund enables others to do conservation by providing funding for projects with measurable conservation outcomes.
